Bio Brief: Sam Champion

Sam Champion was Born …:

… on August 13, 1961.

Sam’s First Job & The Early Years:

Sam graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. Since then, he’s worked across the country at a number of television stations, including those in Lexington, Kentucky; Jacksonville, Florida; and New York City.

Becoming a Talk Show Host:

Though not a talk show host per se, Sam is Good Morning America’s weather anchor and weather correspondent, a position he took in September 2006. Since then, he has covered weather events across the country, including floods and ice storms in the South and Midwest.

What Does the Future Hold?:

Much more charitable work, as Sam is heavily involved in volunteer programs including the Multiple Sclerosis Society, March of Dimes and the Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project’s “Courage Awards”.

And Just for Fun:

  • Is not a meteorologist, but has learned everything about weather while on the job.
