Here are the nominees for: Outstanding Lighting Direction (electronic, Multi-camera) For VMC Programming:
1. Late Night with Conan O’Brien
You don't know the time and effort it takes to appropriately light redhead Conan O’Brien. Neither do I, but I'm guessing a good deal of time. In all seriousness, however, lighting is a fine art in the TV and movie world. It makes the difference between funny and fierce, sweet and sultry, and night and day. For O'Brien, its a bright and silly set with just a tinge of your friend's apartment on a Saturday night.
2. Late Show with David Letterman
Dave's lighting crew takes a different approach. His set is a throw back to talk shows of the 1970s. It's a studio, says the lighting, and you're here for a show. Just look how pinpointed the band is. And watch teh spotlight spectacle whenever a new act hits the stage.
