Talk show host Chelsea Handler's popular program has apparently grown too big for its britches - and is moving to a new studio. Specifically, Chelsea Lately is taking over legendary entertainer Jack Benny's old studio.
Oh, yeah, before we forget, the previous owner was a talk show host, too: Conan O'Brien. O'Brien was the studio's tenant briefly when he hosted The Tonight Show.
The new studio will get a redesign, though it won't stray too far from the look and feel of the current set. Hanlder told reporters at the winter Television Critics Association press tour that it would be "similar to what's on TV."
She also said there's a good reason she's not playing the fictional Chelsea Handler on her new sit-com, Are You There, Chelsea?
Put simply, Handler doesn't have time between Chelsea Lately, its spin-off comedy show, After Lately, her stand-up and writing. She will appear as her fictional sister, Sloane, in seven episodes (about half) this season. The program premieres Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.
