Piers Morgan, host of CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, is under fire for his alleged role in Britain's infamous cell phone hacking scandal. Earlier this week, Morgan sat before a British judge (via satellite) and proclaimed his innocence.

The tabloid scandal concerns hacking of cell phones owned by celebrities, government officials and members of the royal family by journalists from tabloids News of the World and Daily Mirror. Morgan was editor of both tabloids, first with News of the World from 1994 to 1995, and then the Daily Mirror from 1995 to 2004.

The scandal put News of the World out of business and has the Daily Mirror under the microscope. During the hearing, Morgan said, "Not a single person has made any formal or legal complaint against the Daily Mirror for phone hacking, not one."

He also affirmed his lack of involvement in ordering, condoning or knowing about any phone hacking. But what has Morgan in hot water is an article Morgan wrote for newspaper the Daily Mail in 2006. In the article, Morgan says he listened to a message meant for Heather Mills, Paul McCartney's former wife. Mills alleges that a senior journalist from the Daily Mail admitted hacking her phone to get the message.

Confronted about the article, the message and Mills testimony, a testy Morgan cited protecting his source for refusing to say who brought him the message. He also said listening to the message skirted the line between ethical and unethical.

News of the World, owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., which also owns FOX News, admits its employees hacked the phones of celebrities, politicians and crime victims.

I hope CNN fires this guy and hires an American, you can tell what type of guy he is by his questions, trying to get a rise out of them. I wish they would stop going on his show. Go back to England Piers, you are scum.
