Wow, this year is turning out to be a year of changes in the talk show world. First Oprah premieres her final season, then Larry King ends his 25-year run, and now Regis Philbin will end his 28-year run on Live.
Reege made the announcement Tuesday, catching viewers and audience members off guard. He'll leave the show sometime in late summer or early fall.
"There is a time that everything must come to an end," Philbin said. "But we'll have a lot of fun between now and then."
You can see Regis deliver his announcement on Live's official site.
