What To Watch Monday: Iran Crisis on King, Comedy on Daily Show

Follow me on:

We’ll be watching Larry King discuss the election crisis in Iran tonight at 9 a.m. Protests over alleged election fraud in that country – along with startling images of protesters battling security forces in Tehran – dominated news coverage over the weekend. Larry promises live reports from inside the country, a challenge as journalists have been stripped of credentials.

Perhaps serendipitously, The Daily Show recently sent correspondent Jason Jones to Iran to tape “dispatches” from the country, at this time still scheduled to air each night this week. Stories will include an Iranian family, an underground rapper and a feminist blogger.

How will they complement one another? Will they be diametrically opposed? This is one of those rare moments when headline news meets headline-news satire. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
