Tonight Show Transition Begins

By , About.com GuideMay 29, 2009

Follow me on:

Tonight is the final episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. After the broadcast, the title will change (ever so slightly), the set will change, the band leader will change - and most notably, the host will change.

Leno will bequeath the desk to Conan O'Brien, the fifth regular host of The Tonight Show. He may even do so tonight - probably in some comedic way - as O'Brien serves as Leno's final guest.

As we make the transition , About Talk Shows is spotlighting Tonight. Say goodbye to Leno (until this fall when The Jay Leno Show debuts) and welcome The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien by refreshing your late night memory. We've recently added a biography of talk show legend Johnny Carson and will add more as the weekend rolls by. Check back regularly through Monday night for updates!

And make sure you leave a comment about how much you like Tonight, whether you're sad or glad Jay is leaving, and what you think of Conan O'Brien!

well you already know what I think of conan
and don’t care for letterman
so getting educated and watched a great pbs
show about a black chemist who had such trouble getting educated and jobs way back when …even though he was brilliant

did you notice they moved the mentalist up to 10 at nite and I assume the other channels will be moving their good shows up as they feel that no one wants to watch talk show at prime time..what do you think??
