Guest schedules are up and running – many apologies for last week’s hiccup. Long story, trust me, but we’re back in business.
And lots of news to report in the time that I’ve been AWOL. You probably saw that David Gregory has been named the new, permanent host of Meet the Press, an item that was speculated on recently. He takes over for the late Tim Russert.
More watercooler worthy, though, is Tom Cruise’s return to The Today Show, nearly four years after giving Matt Lauer a tongue lashing over psychiatry and chiding actress Brooke Shields about her use of anti-depressants during post-partum depression.
Cruise – hawking his new film Valkyrie and celebrating his 25th year in film – admitted to Lauer that he felt he appeared arrogant during his last appearance and that he didn't communicate his opinion in the way he wanted, saying “That's not the way I am. That's not the person I am."
Whew! Glad that’s cleared up.
