Ellen and Portia Tie the Knot

I’m catching up on my late summer talk show news, so forgive me when I tell you a bit belated that one of our favorite talk show hosts, Ellen DeGeneres, has tied the knot!

Ellen married her long-time partner Portia de Rossi (you’ll remember her from the canceled-too-soon Arrested Development and Ally McBeal. They exchanged handwritten vows at their home in Los Angeles. About 20 were in attendance.

The couple have been openly dating for more than four years, and Ellen shared her plans to get hitched on her daytime show in May. That’s the same month the California Supreme Court overturned a state ban on same-sex marriage.
