Jenna Bush Calls Dad on Ellen
It’s rare these days to see the Bush Administration in the light of regular life, but Ellen DeGeneres manages to do the impossible on today’s (Dec. 5) edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. And it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of guest Jenna Bush, daughter of President George W. and First Lady Laura Bush.
When Ellen asks Jenna if she can just call up her parents like any other young person in America, Jenna says she can. Ellen then challenges her to prove it, by placing a call to Mom and Dad.
The cuteness factor ramps up at that point, as Jenna agrees, but immediately frets that she’ll get into trouble for placing the call.
“You’re not taping the phone number, are you?” she asks.
Laura Bush answers and explains to her daughter that she’s not watching her because the show isn’t live, it’s being taped. Jenna then asks where President Bush is. “He’s sitting right here next to me,” she says.
President Bush then comes on the line, saying hello to his daughter.
“I’m not in trouble, am I?” Jenna asks.
“Of course not,” the President says. “I love talking to you.”
Behind Ellen and Jenna, a picture of George holding his twin daughters the day they were born is shown. Ellen describes the picture to the President.
“Remember, Dad?” says Jenna. “It was the best day of your life.”

the converstiation between her paretns and here is really cute
it’s sad though that she thought that she would get in trouble for just calling them…
Oh please Janice,
It was a setup. You really don’t believe that young lady would call her father on a telephone from a television studio without it being prescreened by the security service and approved by her father? Ahhh ignorance is bliss.
Very interesting site.

What would you do if the internet crashed for good? Would you get used to life with less communication and less “being connected” or would you be pretty bummed for the rest of your life?
This is assuming it was not fixed. Perhaps some largescale EMP attack or something that crippled it for the next 50+ years or so.
