GMA’s Robin Roberts Has Breast Cancer;
Star Jones Reveals Gastric Bypass, And More
Robin Roberts, co-anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America, announced on-air Tuesday morning that she has breast cancer. She will undergo surgery Friday.
The 46-year-old journalist said she discovered a lump in her breast during a self-examination. The cancer is in its earliest stages and the prognosis is very good, Roberts shared with the television audience. According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 178,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the U.S. in 2007.
By coincidence, she discovered the lump the same day she reported on the death of GMA film critic Joel Siegel.
Roberts’ news comes during a very busy week in the talk show world. Also in the news:

God Bless. There is hope at the end of the rainbow. I’m a breast cancer survivor. It’s good that you are talking about it for that will surely help someone to check for herself in the future.
