Leno lands Landis, asks ‘What’s the deal?’

Embattled Tour de France winner Floyd Landis, who has spent the week defending his reputation in light of two failed drug tests, landed on Leno’s chair this week. Leno, in an effort to be honest and open, gave Landis an open forum to posit his thoughts about why he might have failed the tests.

But Leno, in rare form, didn’t go light on his guest.

Responding to the notion that the evidence against Landis is overwhelming if one only goes by the tests, Leno pointedly asked: "Why should we not go by the tests?"

Landis suggested several possibilities, from border-line conspiracy theory to the possibility that there may have taken something without realizing it.
