Chelsea Handler Poses for ‘Playboy’

Tuesday December 1, 2009

Fans of Chelsea Handler might be surprised to find the late night talk show host adorning the cover of December's Playboy magazine. The comedian, along with her sidekick Chuy Bravo, delivers her "Guide to the Holidays" in the issue.

But no worries, Handler-philes. Our host doesn't turn up naked, nude or otherwise unclothed. It's all about the laugh this time out.

She recently told Jay Leno that she trained hard for the photo shoot, even giving up a drinking - "For about a day and a half."

A Chat with Joy Behar

Monday November 23, 2009

Once a teacher, now a talk show host, Joy Behar is spending her days doing double duty: captaining The Joy Behar Show on HLN while maintaining her critical spot on the crew of The View.

You'd think the task of juggling two shows - one of which you headline - would take its toll, but Behar isn't feeling it. Even though her days start at 6 a.m. and end around 6 p.m.

"I have a lot of energy when it comes to talking," Behar says. "I wish that would translate into calorie burning!"

Recently, Behar took a few minutes out of that busy schedule to chat with About Talk Shows about her life on The View, her work on The Joy Behar Show, and a few points in between.

Check out the full interview.

Oprah Coming to an End

Friday November 20, 2009

Don't worry, it'll be a while (2011 to be exact), but the days are numbered for the syndicated version of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Oprah Winfrey should announce today on her "Oprah Fridays Live" edition that her landmark talk show will end its syndicated run in 2011 after 25 seasons. And there's little chance, it seems, that the show will migrate to the new Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), set to debut in 2011 as well.

But do you think Oprah won't headline a talk show of some version when that cable station launches? Of course not. And, on some level, fans can see this as an evolution: from an hour talk show to a network chock-o-block with the Oprah brand.

While Oprah will feel little pain from his move, CBS Television Distribution could be hurting. CBS distributes the show and will see little of that Oprah revenue (a percentage of licensing fees from syndicated stations) once she makes the leap to her new station.
